Several years ago, I met Sylvia Vieira on-line in a Cocker Spaniel group. The first thing that I learned about her was that she was one of the most loving dog owners I ever knew. Through her pictures and stories of her Cockers it couldn't be more obvious that they were cherished souls. Then I found out that Sylvia had cats and worked with rescue, and I was humbled by her love for all creatures. I thank her for sharing her pictures with us here. You can feel her love and respect for each animal in every shot.
I asked Sylvia to share something of her life with us, and here's what she wrote: My brother and I were dropped off at my Italian Grandmother's (Father's Mother) house with a note pinned on my brother saying she no longer wanted us, Grandma raised us and taught us well to always treat animals and people with respect. And to work hard, I think she taught us both well. My love for critters started as soon as I was old enough to realize critters. I probably should have been a vet as I am always trying to take care of the injured and ill. I was 64 and last year and found my love for a camera and the beauty it captures. I have seen the beauty of many things that I had never really seen before.
Sylvia lives in Northern California with her Cockers Nico, Misty and Muffin.
Sylvia, the world is much more beautiful through your eyes!

Do you see anything wrong with this picture?
Sylvia didn't see it either until she posted the picture and saw that the heron was standing on a thrown away tire. Please be aware of the garbage you create and what it's doing to the health of our planet. Do you know where it all ends up?
