Keep These Things in Mind Before You Give Your Dog That Shot Do you ever read the inserts that come with medications? Sometimes? Never? Did you ever ask your vet for the insert that comes with a vaccination? You should. It's a real eye opener. If you do your research, some of the things that you will learn before you vaccinate is that

  • you shouldn't vaccinate a dog that has cancer, chronic sickness, allergies, any illness
  • you shouldn't vaccinate dogs under stress, such as moving, dogs just rescued, dogs having surgery
  • certain breeds of dogs can't have certain vaccinations because of how they'll react
  • it is recommended to give only one vaccination at a time, and that means no shots that are combinations shots
  • you should not vaccinate when it's hot outside
  • you should not vaccinate a dog at the same time it has surgery when their system is stressed
  • many vaccinations confer lifelong immunity if given after a dog is a year old, so read those vaccine protocols and don't over vaccinate
  • vaccines can cause autoimmune disease and you can make your dog sick or kill them when you give them a vaccine
  • some vaccinations are live viruses, some are modified live viruses and some are killed viruses - each type has it's own set of dangers -learn about what those dangers are
